This Algorithm role will focus on the development and optimization of WCDMA algorithms and is it essentail to have significant experience of using C programming and at least one assembler language.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
A strong Degree ( 1st / 2.1 minimum ) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Signal Processing or similar relevant engineering discipline is very important and you should also have achieved excellent 'A' Level Grades including Maths. A post-graduate qualification will be beneficial.

YOUR TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
Expert C programming.
Assembler programming on DSP's.
Physical layer of the WCDMA system.
Embedded Systems.

THE ROLE:
This role will involve working with other talented and bright engineers across multiple-sites to develop and optimize WCDMA algorithms for the company's next generation proprietary processors.
You will undertake regular communication via both calls and cross-site visits to coordinate development and as a domain expert will be expected provide consultancy to other team members.

A leading high tech company is seeking a well qualified Design Engineer with a solid understanding of Wireless Communications to join their talented team in Buckinghamshire, within easy reach of West London, West Herts and Berkshire.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified to a minimum of 1st / 2.1 Bachelors Degree level in an Engineering or Mathematical discipline ideally from a leading academic institution.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Design & development of digital wireless algorithms on FPGA.
3G, UMTS, CDMA2000 and/or WiMAX.
Digital RF processing including DUC/DDC and digital predistortion.
Communication standards.
Modelling wireless algorithms in Matlab / Simulink or C/C++.
Embedded software for real-time applications.
Other programming languages such as Java, Perl, or tcl.
DSP Processors.
Knowledge of Verilog, VHDL or System Verilog.

THE ROLE:
The successful Design Engineer will be part of a small team implementing reference designs for the wireless communications market; involving full lifecycle development from understanding the requirements of the company's wireless strategy, through designing and developing the algorithms to mapping the implementation onto the company's latest and next generation FPGA.
You will also have the opportunity to get involved with patent submissions as well as significant publications and will also have an input into future product requirements for devices, tools and IP.
