Senior / Metering Consultant
Specialisation: Experience in design, operation and maintenance requirements for liquid and gas metering systems. Will have held a senior position with a specialist metering company, oil company or government agency.
Technical Requirements:
1. A thorough knowledge of liquid and gas flow meter selection and metering system design.
2. Experience in design calculations, flowrate computation and flowrate uncertainty estimation.
3. Capable of preparing meter system conceptual design specifications for new and upgrade systems, detail specifications, software overviews, acceptance test procedures, recertification test procedures and maintenance procedures.
4. Ability to prepare flowrate sampling and allocation procedures.
5. Familiar with all relevant IP, API, AGA, BS and ISO standards and codes of practice together with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
6. Experience in using computer programmes for design purposes.
Qualifications: BSc/HNC in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Applied Physics. Membership of Chartered Engineering Institute (preferred).
Experience: Minimum preferred 8 to 10 years.

Metering Specialist / Technician
Specialisation: As a member of the maintenance team with specialist working knowledge of Fiscal and Allocation Gas/Oil/Condensate Metering Systems.
Technical Requirements:
1. Proven record of ability to calibrate instrumentation associated with Metering Systems.
2. Knowledge and understanding of standards, codes, specifications and statutory requirements associated with design and operation of Fiscal and Custody Transfer Metering Systems.
3. Ability to write and communicate reports and prepare test calibration results.
4. An understanding of the technical issues involved in the processing of natural gas and crude oil.
Job Description:
1. Plan & co-ordinate all metering activities associated with the Maintenance Department.
2. Perform accuracy verification testing on all Fiscal and internal balance measurement systems of both Gas and Crude Oil and Natural Gas Liquids.
3. Installation and commissioning of Fiscal, Custody Transfer, Check and Back-up metering systems.
4. Train client technicians in testing procedures associated with good measurement practices.
5. Act as client representative during the commissioning and maintenance of third party fiscal metering stations.
6. Assist and advise Product Accountants and Process Engineers, resolve queries, disputes etc.
7. To establish and maintain recording and performance monitoring records.
8. To work in close liaison with Client Engineers and Auditors, British Gas Auditors and witness Third Party Engineers and Technicians, Department of Energy Auditors and Project Design teams.
9. Compliance with the following standards:
(i) ISO 5167 & BS1042 fluid flow measurement.
(ii) ISO 6976 calculation of calorific value, density and relative density.
(iii) Department of Energy metering standards for gaseous and liquid petroleum measurement.
Supervisory: None.
Qualifications: HNC/ONC Instrumentation/Electronics. City & Guilds Instrumentation/Measurement. Full Technology Certificate.
Experience: Minimum Preferred 3 to 5 years.

Metering Engineer
Specialisation: Experienced in the design, operation and maintenance requirements for liquid and gas metering systems.
Technical Requirements:
1. A good working knowledge of liquid and gas metering system design and principles of operation.
2. Capable of preparing recertification, operating and maintenance procedures and supervising their implementation. Able to monitor and control meter system performance.
3. Familiar with all relevant IP, API, AGA, BS and ISO standards and codes of practice.
4. Experienced in the preparation of specifications for metering system equipment and instrumentation.
5. Familiar with relevant practices and procedures for project management of supply of metrological equipment and systems.
6. Good level of communication skills.
Job Description:
1. Preparation of specifications for new metering systems and upgrading of existing systems.
2. Preparation of recertification, operating and maintenance procedures for oil and gas metering equipment.
3. Carrying out of measurement quantity & quality system equipment and data audits / inspections / surveys to check compliance with relevant standards, codes of practice and client requirements.
4. Provide assistance in the preparation of bid documents for client quotations.
Qualifications: BSc/HNC/C&G (C&GG to Technical Level as a minimum). Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Applied Physics.
Experience: Minimum Preferred 5 to 8 years..
